I have a new job.
It’s temporary – just this week. I’m doing some secretarial work from home for the college’s admissions office, which has a big deadline this coming Monday. Someone thought of me, and I said yes. Twenty to twenty-five hours of work seems doable, for one week… right?
Have you ever tried to cull out five extra hours out of your day? And those five hours being a) on the computer, b) focused, c) without the added assistance of the two-year-old (who just wants to help, people!), and d) confidential, meaning that I need to be at home, on a secure network, and not at the Office Away From Home™?
It’s good practice for me, given that I’m returning to school in two months.
In any case, I’m grateful for the work and grateful for the wonderful problem of having too much to do. It’s a blessing! I’m going to buy some new eyeglasses! And, if I’m feeling footloose and fancy-free, some contacts. Ooooooooooh!
